Hospital staff outstanding
My elderly mother was just recently discharged from Health Sciences North after an eight-day stay there. I never imagined that an early morning visit with her to bring over some needed supplies would take a turn for the worse.
Within 10 minutes after arriving, I had to call 911 in order to get an ambulance to transport her to the hospital. As she was about to sit down, she fell to the floor and struck her head on a coffee table.
I am still overwhelmed by all the personnel involved in tending to her while she was there. It is time on behalf of my mother and myself to pass on a heartfelt thank you to all those involved in treating her.
I will first start off with the two paramedics, all members of the emergency department that cared for her until she was moved into a room. Then there were all doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, lab technicians and so many other frontline workers to remember now. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Tom Crichton, a lifelong and dear friend of our family.
And last, but not least, thanks to Dr. Mohammed Shurrab, the surgeon who implanted her cardiac pacemaker. Thank you to all once again.
More praise for hospital staff
In early December, my 81-year-old mother was rushed to Health Sciences North for emergency surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was a success and she is doing much better.
While my mother was in the hospital for 10 days, including 24 hours in the Intensive Care Unit, my sister and I took turns as her care partners while medical staff ensured she was on the road to recovery.
I’m writing to let everyone know how impressed we were with the quality of care she received from nurses, doctors and all medical staff at HSN. We are truly grateful for the exceptional care, especially in these challenging times.
